Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day, is a holiday celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November.
It has officially been an annual tradition since 1863, when, during the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of thanksgiving to be celebrated on Thursday, November 26.[1] As a federal and popular holiday in the U.S., Thanksgiving is one of the major holidays of the year.
Together with Christmas and the New Year, Thanksgiving is a part of the broader holiday season.

好不容易熬到了第三節(jié)英語(yǔ)課，我心里更加緊張了，看著白花花的一張?jiān)嚲戆l(fā)下來(lái)了，我以迅雷不及掩耳之勢(shì)地掃了一眼，哈哈，好像還沒(méi)有看到難題，心中的大石頭總算落地。一切在順利進(jìn)行當(dāng)中，突然，一個(gè)翻譯題把我給難住了：一只熱狗的英文是什么的?心想：這個(gè)英文明明我是會(huì)的，怎么今天測(cè)試時(shí)給忘記了。
我苦思冥想，咬著筆抓著頭，回憶了所有的課文。突然，我想出來(lái)了，“熱”的英文其實(shí)就是HOT!哎呀，好像是不是因?yàn)樘o張了，把這個(gè)單詞給忘記了!終于想出來(lái)了，心里好興奮呀!哎呀!時(shí)間不多了，快做其他的!
我繼續(xù)后面的'題，終于寫(xiě)完了，看看時(shí)間，趕緊把卷子認(rèn)認(rèn)真真地檢查了一遍，突然發(fā)現(xiàn)一道題還沒(méi)做呢，我趕緊寫(xiě)了上去，嘿嘿，總算是發(fā)現(xiàn)了，也算讓我的“檢查”逮住了你這個(gè)空題，哈!
下課了，我交完了卷子，再看一下同桌，她一副愁眉苦臉的樣子，沒(méi)做完唄，希望我的卷子能考到好!

On the way to the hospital, John burst into laughter suddenly, which made the teacher confused. After we told him that it was only a joke, Mr. Smith laughed too. We were all pleased to see him smiling at last.
